I purchased that car in 2001 with original 14,000km miles from a gentleman who received the car in 1996 from the widow of a famous businessman James Gaylord, after having died a fluke death choking on shrimp cocktail at the dinner table. Documentation I have states that one "Limited Edition Bicentennial Convertible" was made available to each VW Dealer during June 1976 to celebrate the US American Revolution Bicentennial. Aside from the interesting history of this automobile, I need to really confirm the authenticity of the 'Limited Edition' label that has followed this car.
