I've also added what's known as a "Favicon" to both web sites. If you are running the most current web browser then you'll see a little icon beside our web address. For SuperBeetles it is just the letters "SB" and over at AllAirCooled it's the letters "AA" in the shape of a Beetle. Most of the corporate web sites have them for I figured why not? November 10, 2007: Nice Surprise: I got a package in my P.O. box yesterday. Frank Archer, the editor of Ultra VW, which is located in the UK, has been a long time supporter of the site. Almost every month he sends a couple of the latest issues and a promotional item. This month he sent a couple of nice T-shirts, two issues of Ultra VW and a bunch of Ultra VW stickers. I've been using these items for prizes in our monthly contest and I'd like to officially thank Frank and the magazine for the kindness. Thanks Ultra VW!! November 15, 2007: More good news from Great Britain: I just got the December issue of VolksWorld magazine today. While looking through the issue I noticed an ad for SuperBeetles and AllAirCooled on page 97. This was an ad that I came up with and since we're an enthusiast web site VolksWorld ran it for us for cheap. It was such a deal that I didn't even know when it was going to show up, so I've been looking in ever issue for the past few months. Here's hoping that this ad will bring some new friends from the UK to our web sites. November 21, 2007: Lost Bug Found: My wife has been a big fan of designers Colin and Justin from Scotland. They are interior designers and have had such hit shows as "How Not To Decorate" which aired on Britain's Channel 5 and followed the format of the popular What Not to Wear series. But in this case the pair was recruited to transform homes with dramatically ugly interior design schemes into something more stylish. Their next show was "Colin and Justin on the Estate". Here Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan attempted to visually transform a council estate in Glasgow (Arden, on the south side of the city) in their 2007 show on Five. The premise was that everyone should be entitled to a good standard of living, no matter where they are on the social strata. Now they have moved to Canada with "Colin and Justin's Home Heist". This new show is currently being filmed here and is similar to How Not to Decorate, for North American audiences. The show has already been bought by multiple international broadcasters and is the designers first move, via shared format, into TV production. On last nights show they were transforming a home in Mississauga Ontario Canada that had been neglected by the owners for over 27 years. During the makeover they were clearing out all of the junk in the garage and uncovered a 1964 Beetle that had been there for over twenty years. At the end of the show they revealed the home and drove up in the Beetle which they had restored for the owner. Sweet!! November 22, 2007: Walt
Disney Productions Presents: I took my mom out for dinner tonight
and she told me that she had found something for me at the hospital
where she volunteers. When I dropped her off at home she took out an
original paperback version of "The Love Bug" from 1966. The
hospital has tons of books that are donated and the volunteer staff
is allowed to take any of them that they want. The book is in great
condition and has lots of original pictures taken from the movie. Thanks
mom for this rare find! |
