March 1, 2008: Baby it's snowy outside: I know I started last months blog off with the same general topic, but now it's not only cold here in Toronto, we got so much snow here it's insane. It seems that every night when I get home from work I've got to get the shovel out and do the driveway. I've got so much snow piled on each side that it's getting tough to find a place to put it all. And every time that I open that garage to get my shovel I see my Super Beetle sitting there shivering. I looked at My Blog from last year and there's a photo of a couple of Beetle sitting in the snow in April!! Does that mean I am going to have to wait two more months before I'll be driving it? I sure hope not.

At the site this month in the Idle Chatter section we have a great article about the Beetle and the Beatles. Loren Knapp tells the story of the urban legend surrounding the release of the Beatles Abby Road album and the rumor the Paul was dead. I've heard of this before but didn't know just how deep the conspiracy went. The license plate on the famous white Beetle reads "LWM 28IF." The connection here with the VW Beetle is that, at the time of the release of the album, Paul would have been "28 IF" he had lived. The LMW indicates "Linda McCartney Weeps." Pretty cool eh? March 6, 2008: Some people are so nice: I saw a post in the forum the other day where one of our members found one of those cool "VW 1303" emblems for his Beetles rear deck lid. These puppies are super hard to find and came only on European Super Beetles. I commented on how I would love to have one and the next thing you know I have a private message from another member saying that he has a spare one for me. When I asked what he wanted for it he simply said to send him the postage back. I mean, how nice is that? So it arrived the other day and it is mint! I'm going to have to remove my "Fuel Injection" emblem, but this one is so much cooler. So thanks Gerald, and there's a crisp $20 on the way to you!
