April 19, 2008: Varooooom: We got up to 23c here in Toronto and it looks like Spring has finally Sprung. I got an early start on my yard raking and by this morning I had finished and it was that time again. I pulled the dusty cover off my Super Beetle and rolled it out onto the driveway. I had left the back seat just sort of sitting in place so I could get at the battery area on this special day without too much trouble. Using a battery lifter that I borrowed from work I lower the new "Honda SF1" battery into place and connected the cables, then I struggled putting the seat bottom back into place. You really need six hands to do this tricky maneuver. One to hold each of the seat belt retractors, one to hold each of the lap belts and two more to put the seat back in place. Nevertheless, I got it back into position and jumped into the drivers seat with the key in my hand. I put the key into the ignition and turned it to the on position, I could hear all the electric's that had been dormant for months whirring and clicking back to life. Then came the moment of truth. Turning the key a little further the starter did it's job and my 1975 Super Beetle, La Grande Edition fired up without hesitation and is ready for another Summer of fun!
