I have had my 1977 Beetle 1600S for about 4 years now and I am busy getting the bug in the "shape" it should be. The car has given me a lots of joy and has only once or twice decided to get "sick" on me.I am busy doing the interior and my next project would be to pull out the brown carpets and replacing it with a Black one. The beetle use to be sky blue but after I have demolished a wall it needed a good spray job. As I needed to spray it anyway I thought I might as well do it in a color I like, hence the fact that it is black now. The interior use to be all brown and that did not look very good with the black. So I decided to go with a black and red - They always go together...I pulled out the old door panels and replaced the the sponge and vinyl on all 4 (2 in front and 2 small ones in the back). I did the dashboard with a red vinyl film to take away that "old wooden look" that irritated me since I bought the car. For the time being I have put seat covers over the seats but in due time when the money looks better I would get them reupholstered. There is still a lot of work on her but all in good time... Kind
