Stijn's 1971 Super Beetle

My car is a ’71 1302 Super Beetle, which took some 3 years to complete (1999 – 2002). It was a complete rebuild from scratch. I opted for a German look, which I think looks incredibly cool on Super Beetles. For more information on the restoration process, please visit http://www.vwbeetle.be

Features:
17’’ Porsche Cup 1 Rims
Kamei front spoiler (a gift from Steve’s VW Shop – Thank you Steve!)
1776cc engine with double Weber IDF40 carbs;
adjustable Spax struts (I can lower or heighten my car as much as I like ;-));
Monster Autometer RPM Meter
Autometer oil pressure gauge
Autometer oil temp gauge
Sparco Sports Seats with Simpson belts
Car stereo with 6 CD player built in glove compartment (which I don’t use often, as my engine gives me enough music, haha).

This year was the first year I actively participated in meetings, and I must say that driving this car is really far out! It turns a lot of heads too (probably the noisy engine, hehe). The car has been registered as a classic vehicle, which means I cannot use it as a daily driver. That’s why I only have 5000 km on my speedo up to now… but hey, this way, it keeps me HUNGRY for more… The beetle has been in storage since November, and that will probably last until March of 2004 (winters in Belgium can be nasty, and I have no more heating in my beetle either).

Well, that’s about it really…. Keep on Dubbin’!
