I had been thinking of getting a nice old bug to restore when I was scouring the Internet for VW ads and guess what just pops up. A 1955 Beetle finished in Peach! I ran to the phone and called the guy who was selling the car. Luckily, he hadn't sold it already so I said; Great! I'll take it!!! With the car being in Helsinki I had to fly there and pick up the car. The owner met me at the airport, I checked out the car and the deal was done. I was as happy as I could be. This was on September 14, 2003, one of the happiest days of my life! The feeling as I was driving from Helsinki to Turku to catch the ferry home to the Aland Islands was overwhelming. There I was in the car of my dreams, a car so full of history and which had so many stories to tell, finally the circle was closed, I had my Beetle and I was the happiest man in the world!
