Jim's 1977 Beetle

Wow, so many VW's, so little time! To this date I've had over 50 VW's, in various stages of restoration; but that's my hobby, and what a great hobby! I suppose my favorite over the years was a drop-dead gorgeous 77 Beetle that was a one-owner, all original, and came with everything that it had when it left the factory. My daughter called it "Mary Poppins" because it was "practically perfect in every way!" This car was, literally, owned by a little old school teacher who drove it on the weekends. It had so much carnuba wax buildup, that I had to use solvents to remove them from around the handles and trim. The paint underneath was flawless, as was the undercarriage. The inside smelled of new vinyl. It was like stepping back into the late 70's and finding a low mileage used car on a dealer's lot.
