 Jeff's 1973 Super Beetle

My wife, Rose, and I have owned "Betty" for just under 2 years. We named the beast Betty because every time we pull up to a stop light the person in the car next to us starts revving their engine, and I say "bet he" wants to race. When my wife "allowed" me to purchase (ha ha) the car it had the same paint as in the photos, but was peeling under all the windows. As for the interior... well lets just say "what interior". But for the $2500.00 price tag I didn't argue. The other reason we jumped at it was that it was from Georgia hence, no rust... well maybe a little, but nothing like an Ontario car.

I soon began pouring over my old "Hot VW's" looking for lots of goodies. It wasn't until I bought my first issue of "Volksworld" that I ever thought of the German look. Soon I had to have a Type 4 and thought some alloys would be nice. Right now the 2L is sitting on the garage floor and I'm getting antsy. The interior was stripped so that I could start fresh. Some of the mods are: Prelude seats, new carpets, new headliner, Grant steering wheel, Hurst trigger shifter, Empi centre console, custom made smooth dash, a new set of Empi eight spokes with the machine finish and polished lip, 195/50/15 Greenline tires (Toyo Proxis knockoffs), Topline adjust-a-struts and what you can notice in the photos. I'm hoping by this spring that the 2L will be in because my main bearings are just about shot in the 1600. Anyway that's the story up to this point.
