My brother and I have always been into Beetles so last spring we decided to buy one. We found this 1960 orange Beetle only a mile from our house. This was the first time that either my brother or I had gotten up close to one. It looked perfect and it ran like a dream. The owner told us he had gotten it from Berkshire Cable, which was a cable company around here that barely used it. We were told that it sat up in Vermont for the past 15 years. When the last owner bought the Beetle it was painted yellow. The original color was blue and he decided to paint it orange. He had it for 15 more years and only put 3 thousand miles on it. The odometer reads only 45,000 miles. Which is the original documented mileage. On the drivers side door there is a sticker that says the oil was changed at the dealership at 42,000 miles. During this winter months we've been restoring it back to its true self with new floor pans, rocker panels, bumper brackets and floor jack mounts. The Beetle cost us only 800 dollars and the body work has run us another 1,200 dollars (so far). We've only put 100 miles on it and we're waiting for the snow and ice to melt so that my brother and I can drive it. About
