We are two English gas turbine engineers working in Switzerland. We share a love of air cooled VWs and also a garage just outside Zurich, which although it is in the middle of a cow field and has no water or electricity is perfect for our hobby. We bought this car as a donor for another '73 1303 project, but found it was much too solid break up. So we got to business and carried out a full body-off resto in just 6 months. The motivation for this project was supplied by Volksworld Magazine - whose constant jibes about gold 1303's (part of a long running joke) made us want to prove them wrong!

All the work has been carried out by ourselves at our garage near Zürich in Switzerland, with only the paint being sprayed by a pro. Our first outing was to Le Bug Show in Spa, Belgium. We were chosen as one of the top 20 best cars from the 2000 in display! This was a huge surprise to us, but hope it recognises our efforts over the last 6 months.
