Glen's 1974 Beetle

The car is a 74 Standard Beetle, yes it's a "Fat Chick". It's done as a "sleeper", meaning the look was kept stock, but all the mechanical systems have been modified. The engine is 1904cc with a VW Industrial case, Berg 74mm crank and 90.5mm Mahle pistons. The heads are VW castings extensively modified by Joe Aragona with 42x37.5 valves, dual springs, reshaped chambers, ported and polished. The cam is a Scat C-45 with Pauter roller tip 1.3:1 rockers. The carbs are dual Dellorto DLRA 45s and the ignition is a Bosch 010 with a Berg "Ignitor" HEI system.The exhaust is a Berg 1-5/8" merged with dual QP mufflers all ceramic coated.The clutch is a KEP Stage II with ACE Copperhead disc. Special items are a 73 Type 181 fan shroud, restored Bosch 010 distributor and Canton Mecca remote oil filter.
