I have
owned several vintage Volkswagens over the years (58, 66 & 72
Karmann Ghias and a 56 oval ragtop) and restored them all to some
degree. However, something would always come up and eventually they
were all sold. With work not allowing me much free time lately the
"bug" continually biting, I decided to search for an oval
or early Ghia that had already been painstakingly restored. As luck
would have it, a few weeks into my search I came across a stunning
January production 1955 Oval with the desired ragtop. Needless to
say, after a week or two of negotiations a deal was struck and the
55 was removed from Florida for the first time in its 48 years of
life and was brought to Texas. I am proud to say I am the third
owner of this 1955 oval window ragtop, which I recently purchased
from George Nasser Jr., of Florida. The chassis number being 802-413
makes it easily a pre-million production Beetle.
