Edward's 1972 Super Beetle

This old car started its private life in a California VW dealership, where a young, US Marine Non-Commissioned Officer made the purchase. After his California tour ended the NCO, whose job it was to serve on the staff of US Embassies, was then assigned to the US Embassy in Argentina and as his assignments continue to unfold, the vehicle made its way back and forth between California and South America. Unfortunately, I do not know which countries but ultimately, the Marine changed continents and was stationed in Africa (Ethiopia). I believe that was its last overseas assignment before it returned to California and retirement. As the family matured, the Marine's daughter eventually inherited the car and her love for this vehicle is obvious because she kept the car and even had it partially restored at one point and then towed it from California to Houston where she and her husband eventually settled. I purchased the vehicle from her in 2004 making me the third and last owner.
