I purchased this 1973 Standard beetle in 1998 as a car for my wife to drive. She didn't want it. It has a basic 1600cc air-cooled engine, and I've dressed the engine up to give it a more "Herbie" appearance at the cruise nights I take him to. Like many Beetles, it sat gathering dust in the garage until time and money permitted any modifications. It's amazing how much attention this little replica car gets from all of the Herbie fans out there. It's also very timely, now that the new Disney Herbie: Fully Loaded movie is being released.
